10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
Session Type: Workshop

Industries often adopt defensive tactics in moments of crisis and change. For probation, this can be difficult and maladaptive. Deploying another strategy—that of using well-informed solutions to constructively handle a crisis--can make probation relevant and serve to protect the industry in difficult debates where the odds would otherwise be stacked against it. In recent history, California has instituted major criminal justice reforms, but how has that affected probation? The answer may surprise you.
