Release and Reentry Strategies Utilizing Integrated Technology and Effective Collaboration Among Institution, Field Supervision, and Community Partners

This workshop will provide an in-depth overview of ways the Utah Department of Corrections (UDC), Adult Probation and Parole, Treatment Resource Centers, and community partners are collaborating to provide preparation and structure for offenders returning into our communities. This includes the creation of parole release and reentry packets that address specific and individual needs of each offender as well as the use of integrated electronic tablet technology to use throughout the release and reentry process. UDC representatives will discuss factors in the design and creation of this successful Focused Reentry Tablet Program as well as the state’s offender transition and release tracking system. They will follow up with highlights of Utah’s Parole Violator Program, which is designed to decrease incarceration time frames and to create wraparound treatment performance objective to optimize transition.
