SESSION INFO

Tuesday, March 12, 2019
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Session Type: Workshop

This two-pronged workshop centers around interesting efforts involving the Yavapai County Drug Courts in Arizona. First, the presenters will explain how drug court graduation ceremonies have been taken to the next level by bringing them into the community. Attendees will learn about outreach efforts for getting communities involved, the positive impact of such graduations, and challenges in bringing them about. Included will be examples and suggestions that attendees can use to create their own memorable graduation events--benefiting not only their drug court clients but also their community in general. Next, the workshop will describe how Yavapai County Drug Court alumni created a Drug Impact Panel in response to our current opiate crisis. The presentation will cover successes and challenges of creating this panel, how it was implemented, and how it has been benefitting our Drug Court Program.
