10:00 am - 10:45 am
Session Type: Workshop

Wisconsin’s 2015-17 budget provided funds for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections to implement a pilot program for opioid addiction that featured medication-assisted treatment with Vivitrol. The pilot included incarcerated individuals who were nearing their release and offenders in the community under department supervision. A department-wide workgroup of staff from the areas of probation and parole, health services, classification and movement, fiscal services, and program services developed and implemented this program, which began providing treatment in April 2016. Leaders from this group will discuss implementation hurdles, share tips on developing an evidence-based program, and outline best practices for an outcome-based data management system. The toolkit will include sample contracts, training materials, logic models, public relations materials, and data measurement ideas.
