11:45 AM - 12:45 PM
Session Type: Workshop

The Maricopa County Adult Probation Department (MCAPD) has adapted a hybrid safety program for our high-risk Fugitive Apprehension Unit (FAU). “FAU Safety Training Day” was designed to customize an entire day of training for our high-risk team so they can accomplish all their mandatory yearly safety instruction requirements with reality-based drills, threat assessments, and scenarios. During the training day, FAU officers complete their Defensive Tactics Refresher, Applied Defensive Tactics Refresher, TASER re-certification, mandatory yearly TASER deployments, house clearing techniques, and judgment shoot. The purpose of the training day is to provide an efficient, comprehensive, and meaningful experience for FAU Officers while completing 18 hours of training condensed into an eight-hour day. The curriculum ensures consistency with the mission of MCAPD, and the training is presented and guided by full-time and adjunct safety trainers. Come learn more about this innovative and productive endeavor!
