You Put WHAT in a Probation Department?

SESSION INFO

Wednesday, August 21, 2019
10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
Session Type: Workshop

“You put WHAT in a probation department?” offers a realistic and interactive re-entry simulation involving up to 60 audience members combined with an accompanying presentation on the innovative, and newly developed, integrated health clinics being developed in Arizona. Many of us who work with the justice involved population understand it must be difficult for our clients to re-enter society following a significant period of incarceration, but have you ever tried it yourself? This interactive re-entry simulation will open your eyes to the challenges of life following a release from incarceration and test your problem-solving skills when it comes to meeting all your needs while on community supervision. Our presenters will then highlight a fully integrated healthcare clinic that opened in June 2018 inside the Yuma County Adult Probation Department located in southwest Arizona and other similar clinics being opened all over the state. Welcome to the future of community supervision. Q14
