Community Corrections Marketing Strategies
Contracting Agency: Bureau of Justice Assistance

The Bureau of Justice Assistance has awarded a grant to the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) and to the International Community Corrections Association (ICCA) to develop a web-based marketing strategy that will build understanding and support for probation, parole and community-based corrections programs in the United States. This project will emphasize the importance of raising the awareness of and educating key constituents about probation, parole and community supervision and community programming options, the role they play in criminal and juvenile justice, and the public value they produce. A key theme of the project is “capacity building” to develop within state and local probation, parole and community corrections agencies the capacity and capability to market themselves at the local level and achieve the support needed to continue and improve upon current outcomes.
