Development of Information Exchange Package Documentation for Community Corrections
Contracting Agency: Bureau of Justice Assistance

This project will develop reference service specifications conformant with the Global Justice Reference Architecture (JRA) specification and guidelines using the community corrections Information Exchange Package Documentation (IEPD) developed under previous BJA grants to APPA in order to improve the capacity of community corrections to share information with its justice system counterparts and homeland security/intelligence entities by providing complete Web service specifications for agency implementation. APPA will convene two working group meetings facilitated by technical experts from SEARCH, The National Consortium for Justice Information and Statistics. Using input from the group, SEARCH will develop JRA-conformant reference service specifications for at least two of the previously developed community corrections IEPDs, thereby providing the technical basis and specification for actual service-oriented, NIEM-conformant implementations of real, working information exchanges between community corrections and its partners.
