Engaging Families in Community Supervision
Practices: An Evidence-Based Approach to Public Safety

Broadcast Description
This audio teleconference and webcast provides community supervision
officers an overview of the core components of the Family Support Approach
for Community Corrections and tips for how to incorporate the Approach into
their supervision practices. Specifically, this broadcast helps supervision
officers identify why families and social networks are important to
community corrections practice, and provides an introduction to some tools
and techniques that can be used to help individuals under supervision
identify their families and social networks of support and leverage the
support of these individuals to meet their supervision goals.
This broadcast was presented by Family Justice and the
American Probation and Parole Association with funding from the Bureau of
Justice Assistance. Points of view or opinions in this broadcast are those
