The goal of Module 1 is to increase understanding and awareness of elder abuse and to convey the importance of taking a proactive approach to identifying and responding when abuse is encountered. At its conclusion, participants will be able to (1) describe how elder abuse is relevant to community corrections work; (2) define key terms; (3) recognize ways elder abuse may be discovered; and (4) recognize circumstances that may indicate an offender could be abusing an elder.
