Module 3 presents information and techniques for recognizing potential elder abuse that may occur among family members, friends, or other contacts of offenders on community corrections caseloads. Participants will learn about the effects of elder abuse on older persons and why they may be reluctant to report abuse. The presenter also discusses strategies for effectively communicating with the elderly, questions to ask elders that may reveal abuse, and how elder abuse and culture intersect.
