APPA releases Community Corrections’ Preparedness for Responding to Pandemic Flu and Other Crises: A Report of Responses to a Request for Information (pdf) A Request for Information regarding community corrections’ preparedness for pandemic influenza was distributed in January 2007 to approximately 3,500 APPA members. Historically, the response rate to APPA’s requests for information has been high; however, the number of respondents to this particular appeal was quite low at only 25. Such an unusually low rate of response might be due to nothing more than a lack of time or interest, or it may be an indication that preparations for a pandemic event have not yet evolved to a point where information is available to share. There is no way to know. It is important, however, that readers take the low response rate into account when reviewing the summary report, Community Corrections’ Preparedness for Responding to Pandemic Flu and Other Crises: A Report of Responses to a Request for Information.
