This presentation will outline the journey and ultimate success of a rural upstate New York county in implementing a comprehensive approach to dealing with sex offenders.

Participants will:

  1. Recognize the importance of Probation’s role in community notification and education.
  2. Learn the basic best practice research for supervision including such things as risk assessments and specialized case plans.
  3. Learn practical solutions for tracking sex offender’s "red flags".
  4. Learn how to provide these specialized services while trying to maintain already increasing caseloads.
