Teleconferences Managing the supervision of sex offenders in rural communities is a challenging task. Rural communities inherently face unique obstacles and struggle to find ways to overcome them. Likewise, agencies providing services to victims of sex offenders in rural jurisdictions face similar challenges. The Bureau of Justice Assistance has awarded the American Probation and Parole Association a grant to provide three audio teleconferences/web casts on the Supervision of Sex Offenders in Rural Jurisdictions. These teleconferences/web casts will provide probation and parole officers with important information on how to effectively manage and supervise sex offenders in their communities, as well as the opportunity to share their experiences and learn from other rural communities nationwide.
