Membership Information APPA offers six categories of membership to professionals involved in or interested in probation, parole and community corrections. The membership categories include individual, agency, affiliate, corporate, educational institution and library subscription. Lifetime Membership is open to any individual who has 25 years of experience working in the adult and/or juvenile community corrections field and has been an individual member of APPA for at least ten years. During their membership in APPA, the individual must have also held at least one of the following positions:
All APPA Past Presidents are also automatically eligible to apply for a lifetime membership.
Individual membership is open to any person currently involved in probation, parole and community corrections as well as other interested citizens.
Agency membership is available to any local, county, state, federal, provincial or private organization that operates community corrections programs. Agency membership is three-tiered to accommodate different levels of staffing in probation, parole and community corrections agencies.
Presidential Advisory Membership is open to public or private agencies involved in the direct provision of services to individuals involved in the criminal or juvenile justice system and that have an interest in providing insights into issues germane to probation, parole and community corrections through APPA policy development, APPA leadership development and APPA succession planning.
Affiliate membership is open to any state, regional or national organization whose membership includes individuals directly involved with the practice of probation, parole or community-based corrections.
Associate membership is open to corporations with an interest in the field of probation, parole and community corrections who wish to receive a standard benefit package for their membership.
Corporate membership is open to corporations with an interest in the field of probation, parole and community corrections who wish to receive enhanced benefits package for their membership.
Educational Institution membership is available to any academy, school, college, university or other educational institution engaged in studying or furthering professional academic practices but not actively involved in providing probation and parole services.
Library Subscription includes two copies of Perspectives. This is an opportunity for a library to keep its patrons informed about the latest developments in the criminal justice system, particularly probation, parole and community corrections.
APPA Membership Lists are available for purchase on pressure sensitive labels or computer disk.
