Presidential Advisory Membership

Presidential Advisory Membership is open to public or private agencies involved in the direct provision of services to individuals involved in the criminal or juvenile justice system and that have an interest in providing insights into issues germane to probation, parole and community corrections through APPA policy development, APPA leadership development and APPA succession planning.

  • 1 year - $1,200 (U.S. Currency)
The benefits of presidential advisory membership are:
  • President’s Council - Agency designates the department director or one deputy director to participate in the APPA president’s council to meet directly with the APPA president and executive director of APPA (meeting will be held during the APPA Institutes).
  • Individual Memberships - 10 persons to be designated by agency to receive individual membership in APPA.
  • Committee Participation - The 10 members designated by agency to receive individual membership to participate in their choice of APPA committees.
  • Consultation for Regional Representation - Agency will be consulted by the nominations committee for regional representative candidates; in the event of a regional representative vacancy, the APPA president will consult with presidential advisory members in that region.
  • Training Programs - Opportunities to host regional APPA training programs.
  • Exchange Programs - Opportunities to be involved in or host international exchange programs as they may become available.
  • Perspectives Subscription - One copy of the APPA journal, Perspectives, will be mailed directly to each individual member.
  • Membership Discounts - Membership discount for publications, apparel and training institute and training program registrations for all agency employees.
  • “Members Only” Web Access - Access to the members-only section of APPA website, which includes access to all Perspectives articles from 1996 to present.
  • CC Headlines and More... - Community corrections news about international, national, state and local training, information and grant resources, and news headlines will be e-mailed twice a month to each individual member.
