The Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency for the District of Columbia (CSOSA) was created by the National Capital Revitalization and Self-Government Improvement Act of 1997. It is an independent federal agency.  The Agency is responsible for the functions of the D.C. Board of Parole, Adult Probation, and the D.C. Pretrial Services Agency, supervising all individuals in the District on parole, probation, or pretrial release.

The mission of CSOSA is to increase public safety, prevent crime, reduce recidivism, and support the fair administration of justice in close collaboration with the community. “I believe that CSOSA presents our nation’s capital with a unique opportunity to create a new level of offender supervision, which in turn will provide a safer environment for our citizens. It is my goal to form a solid working relationship with the Congress, the District of Columbia law enforcement community and my fellow Washingtonians that will result in Washington, D.C. becoming a safer place in which to live, work and visit,” stated Paul A. Quander Jr, Director of CSOSA.
