The State Parole Board is the paroling authority for all offenders committed as adults, young adults or juveniles in the state plus county jail inmates with terms in excess of 60 days. The Division of Parole, under the Department of Corrections, provides supervision for parolees.
The Supreme Court, under the leadership of the Chief Justice, is responsible for setting statewide probation policy. The Assistant Director for Probation at the state level Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) coordinates programs, maintains responsibility for interstate cases, and acts as a consultant to the Judiciary on probation matters.
