   The South Carolina Board of Paroles and Pardons is the state's sole pardoning and adult paroling authority. 
   The Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services supervises adults placed on probation by the court, or paroled by the Board as well as inmates in early release programs that were created by the legislature to relieve prison crowding, and interstate compact.
