   The Parole Board, under the Department of Military Affairs, is the paroling authority for adults. 
   The Division of Corrections, a separate entity also under the Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety, is responsible for granting releases and supervision of parolees and supervision of adult interstate compact cases.
   Within the Judicial Branch of State Government, the adult and juvenile probation officers of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals are responsible for providing probation supervision of cases that originate in the 31 judicial circuits of West Virginia. The juvenile probation officers supervise the juvenile interstate compact cases.
