Overview The American Probation and Parole Association is a membership-driven organization consisting of practicing, or retired, probation, parole, and community corrections professionals; as well as academicians, researchers, members of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government, community volunteers, and corporations with an interest in criminal justice and community-based corrections. Board of Directors The APPA board of directors consists of the executive committee, each member elected to a two year term; and two elected regional representatives from 17 regions, each elected to a six year term. In addition the board of directors includes one voting member from each affiliate organization, corporate members, and APPA past presidents. APPA committee chairs are non-voting members of the board.

APPA Headquarters Staff The APPA headquarters staff is located in Lexington, Kentucky. APPA is an affiliate of and receives its secretariat services from the Council of State Governments (CSG).
