Function: The activities of the Issues, Positions and Resolutions committee includes surveying the board of directors, the executive committee and APPA membership regarding issues on which position papers should be developed. Recent issues include: officer safety, victims, intermediate sanctions, weapons, and substance abuse treatment. The committee also identifies and explores various issues that are central to the functioning of community corrections professionals. The committee then prepares reports and makes recommendations surrounding the handling of these issues. The reports are generally disseminated in Perspectives.
