Cognitive Behavioral Change
The American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) is pleased to announce a newly formed partnership with the National Curriculum & Training Institute (NCTI), of Phoenix, Arizona. For more than 25 years, NCTI has been providing cognitive behavior change curricula to agencies across North America. The partnership is beneficial to community corrections practitioners on two levels:

1. APPA will now be able to offer practitioners in the field of community corrections a comprehensive array of Cognitive Based Life Skills and Offense Specific Curriculum. These cognitive based curricula clearly align with “What Works” principles that research has proven to be effective in reducing recidivism.

2. Through this partnership, APPA will be offering probation, parole, and private practitioners accredited Certification Training for facilitating cognitive behavioral groups using these powerful curricula.
