Monday, August 17, 2026
4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Session Type: Workshop
Personal safety begins with awareness, preparation, and confidence. This interactive 90-minute workshop empowers women with practical strategies to reduce risk, recognize potential threats, and respond effectively in challenging situations. Participants will explore the principles of situational awareness, personal safety planning, and proactive habits that can help prevent dangerous encounters. Topics include maintaining awareness in public spaces, traveling safely on public transportation, parking and walking in well-lit areas, limiting distractions, sharing your location with trusted contacts, and recognizing high-risk situations before they escalate.
In addition to prevention strategies, participants will receive a hands-on introduction to practical self-defense techniques that can be used when escape is necessary. Participants will also strengthen their confidence through discussions on boundary setting, assertive communication, verbal de-escalation, and trusting their intuition. By the end of the session, attendees will leave with practical knowledge, increased confidence, and actionable skills to enhance their personal safety in everyday life.
