Cordney Battle
Correctional Captain, Orange County Corrections


Cordney V. Battle is a dedicated criminal justice professional with over 24 years of experience in public service. Originally from Orlando, Florida, he began his career as a Deputy Clerk with the Orange County Clerk of Courts and currently serves as a Captain with the Orange County Corrections Department. In this role, he leads Court Operations, Medical Security, and Inmate Transportation within the Support Operations Division. Cordney is passionate about leadership excellence, believing it to be essential for team performance and organizational success. His leadership style emphasizes professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Florida A&M University and a Master of Public Administration with a management concentration from Troy University. He also holds certifications as a Certified Public Manager, Certified Correctional Manager, and Certified Jail Manager. An active member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Cordney embraces its motto, “Culture for Service and Service for Humanity.” Outside of work, he is deeply involved in community service, especially in mental health advocacy, youth development, and promoting fitness and wellness. His career reflects a deep commitment to service, leadership, and community impact.
