Community corrections officers make decisions every day in unpredictable environments during home visits, field contacts, travel, and after-hours responses. This workshop focuses on practical ways agencies can strengthen officer safety, reinforce accountability, and improve response when incidents occur. Participants will examine common gaps in field operations, including missed check-ins, limited supervisor awareness, and unclear escalation procedures. The session translates these challenges into actionable strategies that leaders and line staff can apply immediately, including: including: Clearer safety expectations; Stronger communication practices; Better officer visibility in the field; Faster, more effective incident response. Attendees will leave with practical, field-tested approaches they can adapt immediately to strengthen situational awareness, accountability, and officer safety across community supervision operations.

SESSION PRESENTERS
Anne L. Precythe
Retired,
Anne L. Precythe is the owner and operator of Precythe Sturm Advisory Group, LLC, and the former Director of Corrections for the State of Missouri.
During her seven years leading the Missouri Department of Corrections, Anne oversaw 19 prisons, six community supervision centers, two transition centers, and 42 Probation and Parole Districts, with responsibility for more than 10,500 staff, 53,000 probation and parolees, and 24,000 incarcerated individuals.
Prior to Missouri, Anne served more than 30 years with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, beginning her career as a probation and parole officer before becoming the state's first female Director of Community Corrections.
Anne has held numerous national leadership positions, including serving as President of the Correctional Leaders Association and as a member of the National Institute of Corrections Advisory Board, representing community corrections across the United States. She also serves on the Council on Criminal Justice Women's Commission and has been recognised nationally for her leadership and contributions to the corrections profession.

He works closely with corrections, healthcare, utilities, and other high-risk industries, helping leaders address workforce visibility, communication, and lone worker safety challenges through practical, real-world solutions. Scott brings a strong understanding of the operational pressures facing frontline organisations and how proactive safety strategies can improve staff support, strengthen safety culture, and build trust across the workforce.
