My name is Mary Sturgeon. I have been a Parole and Probation Officer with Washington County Community Corrections since 2017. I have a bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Portland State University. Before becoming a Parole and Probation Officer, I completed an internship with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington DC in their Narcotics and Special Investigations Division, which housed the human trafficking task force. I also worked as a case manager at a re-entry center for adults releasing from federal prison. Since becoming a Parole and Probation Officer, I have supervised both general and sex crimes cases, earned my intermediate certification, and am currently a Field Training Officer and Survival Skills instructor. I am the face of our department for the Washington County Multi-Disciplinary Team and the CSEC/human trafficking task force, and I have presented for the Sex Offender Supervision Network for Parole and Probation Officers across the state of Oregon.
