This workshop explores the purposes for drug testing, and presents the recommendations published by the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, the Michigan Association of Treatment Court Professionals and the American Society of Addiction Medicine to illustrate the best and promising practices to improve client and treatment outcomes.

SESSION PRESENTERS

Mark J Hendershot

Mark brings over 30 years of community corrections and social service experience. He has served with the American Probation and Parole Association for 20 years focusing in the technology realm, constructing data integration models and building secure data exchanges. He brings extensive experience in correctional casework, social programming and construction of integrated statewide justice applications. He has extensive experience implementing evidence-based programming to improve agency outcomes and analytics. In the past five years he has worked in a drug testing laboratory setting, support community corrections agencies and institutions across the southwest with establishing drug testing as a support to treatment and client sobriety. He is works with the APPA Technology Committee to provide research and recommendations supporting best practices across a variety of technologies, including drug testing
