CORE - Coordinated Optimal Rehabilitation Efforts: Tackling Recidivism and inspiring Change – LA’s new approach to Adult Supervision This training will focus on the implementation of the Los Angeles County Probation Departments new curriculum to decrease recidivism and inspire change in supervision clients. As one of the largest Probation Departments in the United States, the attendee will learn why the curriculum was adopted, what were the expectations of the curriculum and what has transpired so far with the adoption of the curriculum. The trainer will discuss in terms of a timeline how everything was planned out including program development, trainings, caseload reorganization, utilization of Cognitive Behavior Intervention tools, quality assurance, data recording and community engagement. The trainer will also discuss lessons learned; how LA tackles some unique challenges such as homelessness, gangs, and drugs; what are the next steps; what changed during supervision; and what inspired this change.
