Hair Drug Testing: Pros/Cons, Trends & New Instant Test Technology

The purpose of this workshop is to provide attendees with information about the pros & cons of hair testing, the latest trends and new instant testing technology in hair drug testing. This workshop will focus on 3 things: 1) A discussion on the Pros/Cons of hair testing, such as the 90 day window of detection advantage and implications for accountability and recovery. 2) The expansion of drug assays available to test in hair such as fentanyl, tramadol, buprenorphine, and ETG. 3) New Instant Hair Test Technology. Time for a demonstration of the new instant hair testing technology will be allotted in the workshop. A panel style discussion will be provided by representatives from a CAP Accredited laboratory, FDA licensed test manufacturer and distributor, and a CSCD agency that is using the instant test.

SESSION PRESENTERS

Dr. Damon Borg
Senior Scientific & Technical Director, Cordant Health Solutions


Dr. Damon Borg is the Senior Scientific Director & Technical Director at Cordant Health Solutions, a CAP accredited toxicology laboratory in NY. He has a BS in Forensic Science-Toxicology from John Jay College, and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences- Toxicology from St. John's University, where he is also an Adjunct Associate Professor and guest lecturer. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Forensic Toxicology. He is also an accomplished published writer in professional toxicology journals and speaker at Society of Forensic Toxicology (SOFT) meetings.


Jessica Graham
Supervisor, Taylor County CSCD


Jessica Graham is the Supervisor at Taylor County CSCD, where she has also been an Auditor/Trainer and Community Supervision Officer. She has a BS in Behavioral Science in Corrections from Hardin Simmons University. She is a certified community supervision officer, motivational interviewing trainer, and in Texas risk assessment system, and STATIC 99. Jessica oversaw the instant hair test pilot and implementation at Taylor County.


David Wilks
Chief Operating Officer, Micro-Distributing


David Wilks is the Chief Operating Officer at Micro Distributing, a Licensed Medical Device Distributor and and FDA Registered Specification Developer of drug testing products and services. He has a BS in Psychology from Abilene Christian University, and MS in Business from the University Central Texas.
