SESSION INFO

Monday, February 27, 2023
2:45 PM - 3:45 PM
Session Type: Workshop

The Reentry Toolkit serves as a guide for developing Tribal Reentry programs that incorporate indigenous teachings and evidence – based programs to prepare incarcerated tribal members and the community for the eventual return to the community. The Reentry Toolkit is a Five (5) part document. This presentation is the final in a series of presentations that were designed to provide Tribes with the skills to develop their Reentry Programs. In prior presentations an introduction to the Reentry Toolkit was provided (Chicago 2022), Part 1: THE PLANNING TEAM, and Part 2: IDENTIFYING AND COLLABORATING WITH PARTNERS (Webinars) were discussed in more detail. This presentation will discuss the importance of measuring the impact of your reentry program to build sustainability. Measuring the impact of your program involves collecting data of the participants of your program and their successful, or unsuccessful, return to the community, but building sustainability involves much more than just measuring the impact of your reentry program. Building sustainability involves gathering collateral information on the true impact the reentry program is having on the participants and the community has a whole. This presentation will provide some basic steps for collecting and analyzing your reentry data and one of the greatest challenges – building long-term sustainability.
