Session Type: Workshop

Organizational change is exciting and challenging. Creating learning environments conducive to all staff presents challenges to allow staff to feel comfortable with new concepts and truly understand how to incorporate them in supervision. Maricopa County Adult Probation Department (MCAPD) trained staff in risk reduction supervision techniques. The foundation material was delivered over the course of several months, utilizing large training groups. While this method effectively provided our large volume of staff with foundational information, staff needed additional perspective to incorporate the material into daily practice. MCAPD developed Learning Teams, breaking down the core information to show how and when it can be incorporated. Explore the exciting and dynamic concept of Learning Teams as used by MCAPD and the benefits our agency is experiencing.
