Leading by Example: Helping Employees Achieve Work/life Balance

In this program we will discuss the work /life balance, why it’s important, ideas to help staff achieve it, and what happens when staff doesn’t have it. We will also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of teleworking for you and your staff. Set the example and show staff that it is possible to have a work/life balance. How to help your staff set boundaries to help them keep work and family equal. What to do when you need to confront staff for lack of performance and help them to see the benefits of balancing work and life responsibilities. Help develop a plan for staff to follow to reduce stress and prioritize work responsibilities.

SESSION PRESENTERS

Kimberly Ann Mackey
Parole Supervisor, PA Department of Corrections


Kim has always had a passion to work in Probation and Parole, she has an MS in Criminal Justice and has been working in the Criminal Justice Field for over 25 years. She is currently a State Parole Supervisor for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the past 19 years, prior to this she worked in Delaware County Adult Probation and Parole as an officer. While she continues to work in the criminal justice field, she gains useful information that she hopes to be able to pass on to up and coming professionals in this field. Kim is also a passionate advocate for education, she believes that educating students about the Criminal Justice System will help produce better leaders in our field. She is an Adjunct Professor for over ten years’ experience at three local Universities. Kim is also a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) and has over 15 years’ experience in the Veterinary field.
