Special Session: The Commitment

SESSION INFO

Wednesday, January 8, 2020
8:15 AM - 9:45 AM
Session Type: General

Rick Miller will facilitate a powerful discussion about The COMMITMENT campaign and the critical role APPA and its members can offer. Hopelessness is at epidemic levels and requires communities, agencies, and organizations to address it through creative, scientific inspired and focused strategies that harness the strength of all organizations concerned with the welfare of children. Through a shared COMMITMENT to "immunize" our youth against hopelessness we need to ensure they know adults BELIEVE in them; are willing to CONNECT with them in meaningful ways that are sustained; and help them visualize and plan for their future through process called mental TIME TRAVEL. APPA is helping to create and lead a public service campaign supported by Arizona State University's Center for the Advanced Study and Practice of Hope and Kids at Hope to support the positive, strength based and hopeful development of all youth.
