Redefining Success in Community Corrections

SESSION INFO

Tuesday, August 24, 2021
1:30PM - 3:00PM
Session Type: Workshop

How do we define success in community corrections? Evaluators tend to limit their focus to failure metrics, such as re-arrest or re-incarceration, but is this the best way to measure the impact of our work? This workshop will explore the Georgia Department of Community Supervision’s (DCS) use of an Executive Dashboard, an interactive tool for reviewing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that are designed to monitor progress around supervision activities that promote success. The presenters will discuss the development and implementation of the Executive Dashboard and why DCS believes our KPIs are a better way to measure the realities of community corrections.
