Holly Benton is a Deputy Chief Probation Officer with the Santa Barbara County Probation Department, with oversight of the department’s Adult Division, which includes pretrial services. She has nearly 33 years of experience in the field of community corrections. Throughout her career, she has held positions in adult and juvenile community corrections, juvenile detention and assessment centers, grant-funded prevention and intervention programs, and professional standards. She has extensive experience working on collaborative interagency teams, policy development, and in leading strategic and change initiatives. Deputy Chief Benton holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of La Verne and a Master of Public Administration from California State University, San Bernardino. For three years, she was an adjunct instructor for the California State University, San Bernardino Department of Criminal Justice. She has trained staff from public, private and non-profit agencies, and presented on a wide spectrum of criminal justice, child welfare and behavioral wellness initiatives.
