9:45 AM - 10:45 AM
Session Type: Workshop

The supervision of sex offenders and individuals on Interstate Compact is challenging. Imagine combining the two? In 2020, Maricopa County implemented a program where the sex offender division began conducting investigations in cases to transfer sex offenders going to other states. This allowed offenders to have a more stable plan when relocating and provide more detailed information to the Courts when these individuals violate their probation or when submitting petitions for termination or modification of probation. The team has been successful in developing a strategy in obtaining progress reports from other states and if high risk behaviors are identified, they collaborate with other states in addressing the behavior. The program has been successful in getting individuals transferred to states where they might be successful on probation with a stronger support system or a better job opportunity. This workshop will provide you the strategies that you can integrate into your agency.
