When Culture Eats Strategy for Breakfast

SESSION INFO

9:45 AM - 10:45 AM
Session Type: Workshop

Building on the work that began more than a decade ago, the 2nd Judicial District of Iowa has been committed to shifting their organizational culture to support engagement, communication, and collaboration by creating a collective vision for the future, identifying high impact strategies, and working to infuse their core values consistently and with purpose across all facets of their organization. In the midst of a grueling era of change, staff across the organization came together to better manage their attention and focus on what matters most to them: the wellbeing and quality of relationships between their staff and clients. Join us in this session where we talk about the journey that the 2nd District has been on, the difficult and sometimes unforgiving work of the Core Team, and all of the successes that have been actualized along the way. This presentation will focus on the real world work of shifting culture, over time, and what it looks like to commit to being better tomorrow in practice. Staff from the 2nd District will share their honest perspectives on the good, bad, and the ugly of true organizational culture change in the 21st century.
