TWO WAYS TO EXPERIENCE THE 2027 WINTER TRAINING INSTITUTE

APPA’s training institute offers in-person and virtual learning options designed to meet the professional development needs of community supervision professionals and agencies. Join us in New Orleans for the full training institute experience, or choose our flexible, on-demand virtual program for an economical way to bring high-quality training to your team.

Ahead of the training institute’s opening, APPA will also offer four-hour intensive sessions on Sunday, January 24, 2027. These extended sessions allow participants to explore selected topics in greater depth and build practical skills in a focused learning environment.

APPA’s Winter 2027 Virtual Training Institute* is a fully on-demand learning experience, available January 19–February 19, 2027. The virtual program is being developed specifically for online learning and will feature newly developed virtual sessions alongside a curated collection of standout programming from APPA’s past training institutes and programs.

*The virtual experience does not include livestreams or recordings of sessions taking place onsite in New Orleans.

Cancellation Policy

  • In-Person:  A full refund, less a $50 processing fee, is available until December 15, 2026. No refunds will be issued after December 15, 2026. To receive a refund, written requests must be sent to the APPA training institute, in care of The Council of State Governments, 1776 Avenue of the States, Lexington, KY 40511, or by emailed to Corrie Ash. All requests for refunds must be postmarked or emailed by December 15, 2026. Registrants with an outstanding balance as of this date are still responsible for payment in full. Registrants with any outstanding invoices or unpaid balances must remit full payment prior to check-in; failure to do so will result in denial of entry to the training institute. Substitutions may be made at no additional charge.
  • Virtual: Due to the cost of the virtual training institute platform, no refunds will be issued.
  • Exhibitors: For booths cancelled in writing by December 1, 2026, 50% of the full payment may be refunded. After Decemner 1, 2026, no refunds will be issued, and previously paid amounts will not be applied to any future APPA exhibit shows or other marketing opportunities. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by email to: Darlene Webb, APPA's Director of Operations.
