American Probation and Parole Association is hosting its third Career Fair for Justice-Involved Individuals.

APPA is inviting employers who hire individuals with criminal records to take part in the career fair by hosting a recruitment table. If you are interested in hiring prescreened New York area men and women who are on active probation or parole supervision and who have a strong desire to work, this event is for you.

As justice-involved individuals strive to successfully re-enter their communities, they need opportunities to secure gainful employment and become productive, tax-paying citizens. These individuals have a variety of skills and talents that can easily benefit employers. They need a second chance at employment. As noted in author Jeff Korzenik’s book, Untapped Talent: How Second Chance Hiring Works for Your Business and the Community, “Second Chance Hiring Isn’t Charity, It’s Good Business!” It is good business for employers who can see the untapped talents of those with criminal records and who are willing to invest in human potential.
