A Family-Support Model for Community Supervision of Reentering Offenders
Contracting Agency: Bureau of Justice Assistance

Through this project, CSG/APPA will partner with Family Justice, Inc. to pilot and test an innovative training program that builds upon the Bodega Model of family support, targeted at probation, parole and community corrections professionals. The project’s foundation will be the two curricula developed under a previous BJA funded initiative which provide proven principles and tools for engaging families of persons under supervision in interventions and strategies that reduce recidivism and enhance service delivery. During this phase of the project, Family Justice and CSG/APPA will deliver and evaluate the curricula at up to two sites, develop a guidelines document delineating principles and practices for community corrections work with families of individuals under supervision, and conduct two audio teleconference/webcasts on working with families of offenders.
