Community Corrections Guidelines for Compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act

The main goal of this project is to develop practice and policy guidelines for community
corrections professionals to assist the field in understanding and complying with the
provisions of the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). This project will collect and review
literature and existing strategies implemented by community corrections professionals in
compliance with PREA. To accomplish this goal, APPA will convene a working group to
identify salient issues related to complying with PREA provisions as well as training and
technical assistance needs of the field. The policy and practice guidelines will be made
available on the APPA website.
