Adult Sex Offender Management for Probation and Parole
Presenter: Mary Ann Mowatt

There is a great deal of public concern over sex offenders. This concern has led to the enactment of several changes in how our criminal justice system deals with adult sex offenders. Changes have included sex offender registries, increased length of prison sentences, community notification when high-risk sex offenders are released from prison, intensified post-release supervision, and the possibility of civil commitment for sex offenders who are deemed sexually dangerous or found to have a sexual psychopathic personality.

The goal of this training is to provide the baseline information needed to supervise sex offenders in the community. This training will clarify how sex offenders are different from non-sexual offenders as well as specify various types of sex offenders.
