This presentation will outline the journey and ultimate success of a rural upstate New York county in implementing a comprehensive approach to dealing with sex offenders.
Participants will:
- Recognize the importance of Probation’s role in community notification and education.
- Learn the basic best practice research for supervision including such things as risk assessments and specialized case plans.
- Learn practical solutions for tracking sex offender’s "red flags".
- Learn how to provide these specialized services while trying to maintain already increasing caseloads.
