Community Corrections Strategies for Supervising Those Victimized by Domestic Violence
Contracting Agency: Office on Violence Against Women

Under this award, APPA is continuing its work to provide training to community corrections professionals on how to identify and supervise individuals on supervision who are victims of intimate partner violence. In this iteration of the work, APPA is working in partnership with the Battered Women’s Justice Project (BWJP), the NY State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NYSCADV), and the National Clearinghouse for the Defense of Battered Women (NCBDW) to develop and deliver a blended training program that will improve the capacity of community corrections personnel to identify individuals on community supervision who have been victimized by IPV and help assure that officers are using trauma-informed approaches to supervision that will protect the supervisee’s safety yet still hold him/her accountable for his/her crime.
