Implementing Effective Sex Offender Management Strategies (CSOM)

This project, in partnership with the Center for Effective Public Policy, provides for the fulfillment of the following goals: to improve the level of overall knowledge and understanding about the etiology, typology, and the types of treatment of adult and juvenile sex offenders among the officers who supervise these offenders, the legislators who set penalties and appropriate funds, and the governors who sign bills into law and approve budgets; to increase the knowledge of supervision agencies; to enhance the involvement of victim advocacy organizations; to increase the coordination of management, supervision and surveillance efforts by probation and parole; and to increase the understanding and involvement of the community.
